In the 1950s, the Guerlain family decided to create a fragrance based on the astonishing roots of vetiver. After a few trials, the Guerlain perfumer arrived at a subtle blend evoking the scents rising from the earth in the pale glow of dawn. This evocation of the world's first morning is enriched with a woody accord and the refined elegance of spices and tobacco to create a rare and sophisticated fragrance. A square, faceted, and refined bottle draws its luxurious lines from a model from Guerlain's heritage. A heavy, matte cap borrows its guilloché motif from the world of watchmaking.
